Africa Diesel Generator Fuel Monitoring Project
JHGP recently provided a diesel generator fuel monitoring solution for an African project involving approximately 1,000 diesel generators. The main objective is to remotely monitor generator location, operating time and fuel consumption, helping customers improve fuel management and reduce abnormal fuel loss.
Project Requirements
The project has several key technical requirements:
Diesel fuel tank height: 1.5–2 meters
Fuel sensor and GPS tracker require wireless communication
Wireless transmission distance: more than 30 meters
Centralized monitoring for approximately 1,000 generators
JHGP Solution
The solution combines a [4G GPS Tracker] with a [Wireless Bluetooth Fuel Level Sensor].
The wireless fuel sensor continuously collects the diesel level inside the generator fuel tank and transmits the data to the GPS tracking device. The GPS tracker then uploads the location and fuel information to the [Fuel Monitoring Platform] through the cellular network.
The platform can record and analyze:
Generator real-time location
Generator operating time
Fuel level changes
Fuel consumption
Refueling records
Abnormal fuel drops or possible fuel theft
Historical GPS and fuel data
Because the fuel sensor and tracker communicate wirelessly, installation is simpler and reduces additional wiring around the generator and fuel tank.
Centralized Fuel Management for Large Projects
For projects with hundreds or thousands of generators distributed across different locations, the [GPS Fuel Monitoring System] allows operators to remotely check each generator from one platform.
By combining GPS positioning + wireless fuel sensing + cloud platform, fleet and equipment managers can better understand where each generator is located, when it is operating and how much diesel it consumes.
